Ambulance Demonstrations

American Medical Response in Santa Clara County provides five (5) free community events each month.

In order to receive a free ambulance demo it is imperative to book your date in advance due to high demand.

The Spring is our busiest time of the year in which we receive several requests a day for demo's. Our suggestion is to book your event with us 2-3 months in advance.

To see about availability or for questions on what our ambulance demo's consist of, Contact our Account Executive at 408-574-3800 x7137.

Community Education

One of our goals in Santa Clara County is to decrease the number of teenage deaths due to alcohol or poor choices.

We have two programs that AMR sponsors and coordinates which may save lives in your community.

CHOICES- A 50 minute (adjusted to your classroom time) drinking and driving prevention program which was created by your local EMT's and paramedics in Santa Clara County. Our employees are tired and frustrated on arriving on scene of a preventable collision in which young adults have made a poor choice. The choice to drink and drive, use drugs, or speed - are all discussed in this informal presentation. The consequences are shown as well as questions answered on any topic the students wish to bring up including legal questions and how alcohol affects the teenage body.

To bring this valuable program to your school, contact our CHOICES Coordinator at 408-591-6026.

"Every 15 Minutes" - A two day drinking and driving prevention program started in Chico, California in 1995. In 1995 someone was killed or injured in an alcohol related collision every 15 minutes. This program provides real emotions and feelings which touch students and the local community in a way that is far different from previous types of education.

The first day consists of a mock car crash scene on the football field. The second day is a mock funeral service with guest speakers and the reading of letters to family members and friends of students who mock "died" the previous day in the car crash scene.

The Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) in conjunction with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) offer schools in California a $10,000 grant to conduct this program. The CHP also provides a liaison for your school to conduct the program. For more information and grant information, contact the local CHP office at 408-467-5400.

For information on the program, log on to the national "Every 15 Minutes" website.

If you would like assistance with the coordination of your program call AMR's Every 15 Minutes Coordinator at 408-591-6026. Since 1999, AMR Santa Clara has sponsored and coordinated over 26 successful events at local high schools.
